Communications Update
As a BTN member and resident, you’ve likely noticed our increased efforts over the past year to communicate, engage, and keep you informed. This past fiscal year, we focused on ensuring we had at least one accurate email address for every BTN residence—and we’re proud to report that we’ve now reached over 95% coverage! Since you're receiving this message, we have your contact information. However, if you know a neighbor who isn’t receiving our emails, please let us know and share their email address if possible. You can easily email us using the CONTACT US, and selecting TOTAL BOARD.
Our primary communication channel is the BTN HOA website, which allows us to send blast emails to members and residents. This year, we also expanded our outreach through social media, (Facebook ) direct mail, signage, and even door-to-door when necessary.
Recently, the communication efforts have focused on the 25/26 BTN HOA membership drive, the Champions Club, posting invitations for Wine Tasting, Book Club, and Mahjong. Moreover, hosting a Town Hall meeting requires necessary communication not only with the city and state officials, residents, but also with the news media.
We appreciate everyone’s responsiveness!
In addition, the Bylaws had not been updated since 1996. For the past several months, I have a worked with a small committee reviewing and proposing updates. The goal is to incorporate Standards of Best Practices of the 21st Century, and transparency to reflect integrity.

Briefly, some of the immediate Bylaw updates concern changing the fiscal year, procedures for filling board vacancies, using terminology to reflect accounting standards, allowing the board to meet in-person, virtual or remote, and a procurement policy. This is an on-going process that should conclude by August.
It certainly has been busy, but we hope the communication efforts have fostered a sense of community to add to the quality of life we share in Bent Tree North.
Enjoy the summer!
