The BTN Quarterly Newsletter

Last July and August, the women of Bent Tree North embarked on a delightful new adventure, transforming their Bunco nights into lively Mahjong gatherings. I hosted these lively Thursday nights borrowing lots of tables, chairs, Mahjong game sets and prepared to teach the game to a large group of new learners to see what the reaction would be.

To to put it lightly, those nights became a new movement in our wonderful shady little neighborhood.  The women have fallen in love with Mahjong, investing in beautiful sets and sharing their passion with families.

The game is all about taking a random group of tiles named bams (bamboos), cracks, dots, winds, flowers, dragons, and jokers and creating order out of chaos by building a pattern for the 14 tiles in the rack.

Follows are some photos of recent Mahjong events!

As we approach our one-year anniversary in July 2025, we invite all members to join the fun—whether you are a seasoned player or a curious newcomer.

For newcomers, while we no longer have special teaching tables, we will partner you with an experienced player that you can watch to learn the game's basics.

To become part of this exciting community tradition RSVP via our CALENDAR!
