Security Enhanced Neighborhood Patrol System
OUR SECURITY PROGRAM:
The safety and security of our community have always been a top priority for the Bent Tree North Homeowners Association (HOA). The HOA Board established an Enhanced Neighborhood Patrol (ENP) several years ago to fulfill this priority.
The ENP program consists of off-duty Dallas Police Department officers, who patrol our subdivision during the nighttime hours of 11 PM through 4 AM. These officers are experienced professionals who bring their expertise to help ensure the safety of our community. Their presence serves as a strong deterrent to potential criminal activity, providing an added layer of security for our residents. The officer on duty carries a mobile phone for being contacted, when necessary.
Our security officers will check on your home each day while you are away, if you alert them, and upon your return will provide you with a log/list of dates and times when a security officer made a visit to your home.
Please read the "Security for Members" section of this security page to see the important details and benefits of the ENP, such as accessing the cell phone number and the "out of town" log sheets, which are available for download.
These privileges are available to all HOA members!!
HOA Member Responsibility:
While we have implemented this effective crime deterrent program, it is important for residents to remain vigilant. No security features work efficiently without your involvement. While criminal activity in Bent Tree North has remained low over the past several years, surrounding areas have experienced an unfortunate increase. This underlines the significance of our security initiatives and the need for ongoing diligence.
We encourage all residents to report any suspicious activities promptly to the appropriate authorities, such as the Dallas Police Department or the ENP, during their on-duty hours.
Further, you should know and practice the following:
· Keep garage doors closed when not in use.
· Lock all vehicles parked outside. Do not leave valuables in them.
· Keep backyard gates locked.
· All HOA members have the ENP phone number. Keep it handy.
· Register your home with the ENP when you are out of town. It will be checked each evening.
· Do not advertise upcoming vacations and out of town trips on social media.
Watch for strangers walking through the neighborhood. If you see suspicious activity, witness a crime being committed, or become concerned for your safety or that of your family or neighbors, do not hesitate to call 911.
These simple practices go a long way in preventing crimes and mischievous behavior.
